A BOY ON A PARADISE BEACH

Virtual Memory SERIES

The inspiration for this piece came from my master's research on virtual reality.

Virtual reality has been widely used in the medical field as an efficient tool for treating psychiatric disorders, thanks to its ability to induce physiological changes equivalent to those experienced in the real world, such as changes in heart rate, skin conductance, and respiratory effort.

It was based on this that the premise for this sculpture arose, where visual stimuli could make a child smile and momentarily forget the contrasting and distressing environment around them.

Could this be the future that awaits us?

I am a Brazilian graphic designer, currently focused on 3D art and Virtual Reality. As a researcher, I developed virtual reality environments for my master’s thesis from 2015 to 2017, with the aim of treating patients with panic disorder and agoraphobia.
